                                                                                  Representative & General Manager
                                                                                                        ADOC
Welcome to the eleventh edition of ADOC’s Sustainability Report. Despite the continuance of COVID-19 for a second year,
ADOC managed to continue safe and stable operations and maintain its production rate which is a big achievement amidst the
           challenging circumstances.

Infectious diseases are well identified as one of the top business risks. With the COVID situation still continuing and other
similar diseases being increasingly reported, we are always proactive in managing and controlling such situations by following all
local guidelines (both from the UAE government and ADNOC) and international best practices. We were able to update the
necessary precautionary measures against the virus through engagement with staff during weekly meetings.
In 2021, we strived to meet the expectations of ADNOC and the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs (SCFEA,
previously known as Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC)) to maximize recovery rates and meet production targets for all of
our oilfields. We are conscious that we have a huge responsibility towards the society at large. Since our assets are aging, and
there is a focus on operational efficiencies, we consider process safety and asset integrity to be extremely critical elements of
           our business.
We continuously review our robust HSE management system and always enforce it. We demonstrate direct leadership and
commitment through carrying out our landmark initiative “HSE patrols” across all our sites. We always endeavor to improve
the HSE culture within the organization since we strongly believe that people are our core assets and the main contributor
to ADOC’s successful and sustainable operations. We acknowledge that in the long term, a stronger HSE culture will result in
achieving long term goals of the company. We recognize that it is important to impart training and education to employees
to improve their technical strengths and competency as well as monitor our contractors at all times, providing training and
awareness on ADOC’s safety culture and values to maintain high safety standards.
ADOC are in line with the UAE’s policies and vision on Emiratization. We closely monitor the Emiratization process within
the organization through regular internal meetings to plan how ADOC will aid the development and education of Emirati
employees; identify any gaps and focus on the bridging of these gaps. We have introduced various initiatives to encourage
Emiratis to join and become a part of ADOC and hold many important positions in future years as they progress with their
           career development framework.
Enhancing society’s cohesion for future generations is part of the UAE government’s vision. At ADOC, we are well aligned with
this vision and continue the Japanese Language Teaching Programme (JLTP) towards our contribution to the people of the UAE.
Our future business objectives prioritize research on new technological advancements that can support our onward sustainability
journey as well as potentially reduce operational costs. We are aware that throughout the world, governments, cities and
companies are setting net zero targets to be met by 2050 to reduce the impacts of climate change. At ADOC, we understand
that decarbonization is important, and are mindful of the economic and social challenges associated with the decarbonization
of the energy sector. We have started to plan our ‘Net zero journey’ and will be sharing more on this topic in our forthcoming
reports. We have already laid a very strong foundation over the past years through the implementation of our zero-flaring policy
and ongoing environmental initiatives such as mangrove plantations. In recognition of our mangrove plantation initiative, we
were proud to receive the Environmental Award in the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) –
Working with Nature – Certificate of Recognition Category in 2021.
In closing, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our stakeholders for all the efforts, support and co-operation to
maintain safe and stable operations throughout the year 2021. I would like to say that despite the difficulties and challenges of
last year, we are proud of our achievements and look forward to the future days. I hope you find our sustainability report of value
and encourage you to provide your feedback and suggestions to us.
