ADOC 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
OUR OPERATIONS
ADOC operates in the UAE oil and gas sector, and is responsible for the extraction, processing, and transportation of crude oil
to Japan. ADOC operates four oil fields approximately 100 kilometers west of Abu Dhabi City: Mubarraz, Umm Al Anbar (AR),
Neewat Al Ghalan (GA) and Hail, which are all currently producing oil. The main processing and support facilities are situated
on Mubarraz Island, south of the GA Field. Mubarraz Island hosts oil and gas processing, crude storage, crude loading, water
treatment utilities, accommodation blocks and other associated infrastructure.
Crude oil produced from Mubarraz, AR, GA and Hail Fields are processed at Mubarraz Island and shipped as Mubarraz crude oil
to Japan. The field operations are supported by the offices in Abu Dhabi and the warehouse facility in Mussafah.
MR. JUMPEI KITO
Manager
Administration Department
My experience with ADOC began in 2016, where I was initially posted in the Tokyo head office. In 2019, I moved
to Abu Dhabi field office originally as a manager of the PL Department but moved to the AD Department in April
2021. My responsibilities involve around the Administration of all the employees, General Services, Information
Technology, and Personnel matters including the medical support within the department.
During my time with ADOC, I have always been impressed by ADOC’s constant focus on HSE related initiatives, for
example the mangrove plantation, coral preservation, and seagrass propagation projects. In addition, I am proud of
ADOC’s commitment and contribution to the society through offering the Japanese Language Teaching Program at
the Applied Technology High School to Emirati students from 2011. In addition, ADOC is supporting the education
at Japanese School and Japanese Kindergarten for Emiratis since 2006. These contributions have been beneficial
specially to the Emirati young generation who will be connecting two countries as kind of a bridge.
ADOC’s philosophy focuses on maintaining safe and stable operations. The company’s Code of Practice, policies and
regulations are instrumental to achieving these objectives and we review them regularly before any new activities are
undertaken to ensure the smooth and effective running of operations.
For example, with the onset of the pandemic in 2020, we established the COVID-19 operation guidelines and over the
past year with the various changes to local and national requirements from ADNOC and the UAE government, we
have updated the guidelines to reflect the most recent advice. All operational activities are assessed before any activities
are undertaken, and only if they comply with ADOC’s guidelines and regulations are approved by senior management.
I believe that sustainable business operations and contribution to society are essential to improving the performance
of an enterprise. Going forward, I believe the next step for ADOC would be the transition towards ‘net zero’
initiatives for further contribution to achieve the organization’s sustainability goals and culture.
