ADOC 2022 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
MR. MASAMI NAKAYA
Manager
Purchase and Transport Department
I have had various posts at ADOC since joining the organization in 1993, with my recent post commencing
in 2019 as the manager of the PT Department. My department is responsible for the procurement of
equipment, material and transportation that are required for the smooth running of ADOC’s operations
offshore.
We as a department are key to ensuring sustainable operations so that operational targets can be met and
without delays. We aim to achieve this by monitoring our performance through HSE audits, and regular
communication with the OP Department in Mubarraz.
With the continuance of COVID-19 cases in 2022, the PT Department had a critical role in ensuring the
safety and wellbeing of employees by supply of the necessary materials and transportation required by the
positive COVID-19 cluster cases offshore.
We procure supplies from everywhere around the world. This includes local suppliers in the UAE and
international suppliers in Japan, USA, Europe and others. Human rights is critical to the selection process of
our suppliers and we ensure the fairness, integrity and transparency of suppliers by only selecting suppliers
from an approved list of vendors based on a stringent set of criteria through the ADNOC Commercial
Directory. The Commercial Directory has a screening process to ensure an ethical and sustainable supply
chain of service providers and partners.
Communication with multiple departments and external stakeholders is essential in performing our role
most effectively. We have an internal system for purchasing whereby all departments within ADOC can
make equipment, materials and services requests and detail all their requirements. Presently, we maintain
communications with our external stakeholders through standard channels such as, phone, email and MS
Teams, however, we do have future plans to introduce a formal vendor management system, to streamline
and improve our communication protocol.
