ADOC 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
EMIRATIZATION
In line with the directives of the UAE
Government and SCFEA/ ADNOC’s
requirements, ADOC continue to
implement their Emiratization Programme.
The aim of the Programme is to ensure
that our Emirati employees grow within a
positive work environment by enhancing
skills, competencies and career advancement.
ADOC has 60 UAE Nationals within the
organization, 27 of which were senior
employees and 33 of which were junior
employees. Emiratization is mandated
by the UAE government to create more
career opportunities for Emirati Nationals,
mainly in the private sector, to increase their
contribution to the economy. The Emiratization programme at ADOC aims to increase the employability and development of
UAE Nationals within the organization’s existing workforce.
To target an increase in the number of Emirati Nationals within the organization each year, ADOC has formulated a five-year
manpower plan (2019 – 2023) for UAE Nationals. At the end of 2021, 36.6% of our workforce consisted of UAE Nationals; a
marginal 2% increase in the number of Emiratis in comparison to 2020. Although we were unable to achieve our target of 42.8%
Emirati Nationals this year due to the challenges faced, in the coming years, we will strengthen our efforts to achieve the desired
outcome for the Emiratization programme.
The HR Department implements programs such as the competency Based Training (CBT) Programme for both technical and
non-technical disciplines to improve the Emiratis’ employability and development within ADOC’s current workforce. Despite the
working from home conditions due to COVID-19, this initiative has continued successfully throughout 2021. In total, 25 trainees
participated in the training, representing 41.6% of the total Emirati workforce at ADOC.
OUR COMMUNITY
The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to spread globally and influence the lives of many. Valuing the importance of the society
around our operations, we at ADOC recognize our obligation as an employer and as a member of the community to assist
and play our role in preventing the spread of the virus. We have continued to act efficiently by adhering to the various trusted
regulations implemented by the UAE government and frequently review our precautionary measures which have included
regularly updating our health and safety plans, implementation of disinfections programs, health screenings and provision of
appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We also continue to engage and invest in our local communities by operating
ethically and responsibly.
ADOC continue to deliver their Japanese Language Teaching Programme (JLTP), which focuses on the development of the
younger generation of Abu Dhabi, in some of Abu Dhabi’s esteemed educational organizations, namely Applied Technology High
School (ATHS). The objective of the JLTP is to teach the students the Japanese language and introduce them to Japanese culture.
The JLTP is being taught to students in grades 9,10,11 and 12 boys and girls, two times a week.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and various travel restrictions, delivery of the JLTP has, as in 2020, continued virtually online. This
arrangement is still being met by great success and enthusiasm from the students with a total of 95 students being enrolled in
the programme and a total of 55 class hours being delivered in the 2020-2021 academic year.
