ADOC 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

                                                                         MR. TARIQ ASAYRA
                                                                                   Chief Administrator
                                                                     Offshore Operating Department

“A good leader builds relationship that inspires and motivates his subordinates in achieving a common goal”. As Chief
Administrator in offshore site for ADOC (Japan), it is my duty to ensure that all offshore operations are carried out in an efficient
and procedurally compliant manner in line with ADOC (Japan) policies and procedures.
I believe that the key in successfully fulfilling my role in the organization is by building and maintaining effective relationships with
relevant internal and external department in the organization. For instance, during this current COVID-19 pandemic situation, it
has been a challenge to OP Administrative Department most especially due to the restriction with the movement in offshore.
Through good collaboration with each department, we were able to manage and continue our operations safely without
delay. Safety precautionary measures was consistently implemented including health screening prior to travel in offshore site,
mandatory use of facemask for all employees, regular COVID-19 PCR Test schedule, reduction in the staff capacity using common
areas, and re-iteration of proper hygiene management most especially to contractor employees.
Despite these safety precautionary measures, we still come across with few positive COVID-19 cluster cases. However, with
good communication and teamwork with ADOC medical team and HSE Department, we were able to assess the situation and
proceed with our action plan swiftly. Strategies which include mass COVID-19 PCR Test for all offshore employees, contact tracing
and source investigation, provision of quarantine facility for individual positive case, and arrangement of special transportation for
positive cases to evacuate from offshore site to Abu Dhabi City for government quarantine services.
Compliance with health and safety management procedures is imperative for each staff to ensure the safe operations in offshore
site. The ground-levels staff offshore have the highest risk of experiencing occupational health related illnesses and/or injuries and
therefore should be the focus in increasing awareness on the critical hazard involved in their daily operations. It is also a must
that continuous communication channel between AD and HSE Department is well-maintained. Health and safety awareness
information is communicated to our staff through different channels including email reminders, posters, signage/sign boards, and
health & safety related videos on communal areas. Each employee is required to undergo external and internal training focusing
on protective & preventive measure on safe working conditions in offshore sites which includes H2S awareness & usage of
breathing apparatus, fire protection, and HUET & sea survival.

The organization also recognize the significance of addressing the mental health and well-being of our offshore employees
considering the extended periods of time they spend away from their families and loved ones. Therefore, ADOC organized
activities such as sports event and set-up a number of recreational facilities (including libraries, gym, and communal areas/majlis)
accessible for all staff. Most recently, a new volleyball facility has been provided which added enthusiasm to our employees. In
addition, conveying appreciation thru reward like “Employee of the month” and holding an annual HSE award ceremony to
commend employee for their commitment to HSE helps to improve employee morale and motivation.
In conclusion, being an effective leader, one must adhere to his core values and principles to be able to facilitate and guide
his subordinates in adhering and committing themselves on achieving a common goal. Open communication, teamwork and
maintaining effective relationship is the key to success at ADOC.
