ADOC 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES
We had zero emissions of ozone-depleting substances emitted from our sites in 2021. We have retrofitted air-conditioning
units by converting ozone-depleting compounds (hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs)) to ozone friendly compounds
(hydrofluorocarbon – (HFCs)). We are continuing our efforts to have zero ozone-depleting substances.
NITROGEN OXIDES (NOX) AND SULPHUR OXIDES (SOX)
As a result of our 2021 energy generation via gas turbines and back-up diesel generators and flaring activities, ADOC generated
emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO ), NOx, carbon monoxide (CO) and non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs).

We maintain an individual point source emission inventory for all operating equipment. In addition, persistent organic pollutants
and hazardous air pollutants were not generated.
As part of the 2020 plan, fugitive emissions monitoring was conducted in 2021 at ADOC facilities including Umm al Anbar,
Umm al Anbar Terminal, Mubarraz Island Facility (MIF), Central Facilities Platform (CFP) and Newat al Ghalan. During the 2021
monitoring, a total of six leaks were recorded across MIF, Umm al Anbar and Newat al Ghalan. Repairing was conducted by the
maintenance team from 3rd September to 3rd October 2021 to stop the leaking. After the repairing campaign, four out of six
leaks were successfully repaired. The post monitoring emission rates were 8.12 metric ton per year, this emission rate include
that of total organic compounds, volatile organic compounds, and methane. After the repair, the emission rates were reduced to
4.81 metric ton per year.
Recommendation for handling the leaking components was discussed in the Fugitive Emission Final Report 2021.
