ADOC 2022 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
MRS. LAYLA AL RASHDI
Head - PR Group & Supervisor T&D Group
Human Resources Department
I joined ADOC 10 years ago, originally as a training officer and have progressed to a supervisory
role within the HR department.
My role involves arranging training courses for staff at ADOC in line with their needs and
requirements to enable them to improve their skills and allow them to perform their day-to-day
duties efficiently using appropriate aids. Seeing the progression of our staff is very rewarding and
within the department we recognize that enhancing the capability and knowledge of our staff is key
for the success and competitiveness of the organization in the long-term. We happily accommodate
any requested training courses from our staff related to their job functions.
In 2022, we continued the delivery of business-critical training courses to all employees such as the
‘Work and Business Ethics course’.
A key achievement of the department in 2022 has been the continued successful introduction of
the Udemy Online Training Platform, which offers over 1,500 comprehensive courses aimed at
improving a combination of non-technical, technical skills and self-development. We have received
positive feedback from employees on this online platform, especially regarding the flexibility the
platform offers by enabling employees to attend training from anywhere without gathering face-to-
face or the need to travel.
Although the oil and gas industry is considered to be male-dominated, at all levels, in my tenure at
ADOC I have seen that the organization has strived towards gender equality and inclusivity. ADOC
is committed to empowering all women by providing equal opportunities regarding training and
career advancement.
ADOC also have a robust Emiratization program aimed at strengthening competencies of graduate
Emirati employees to fulfil their current roles. Since starting, 28 staff have successfully completed the
program. The program was put in hold in 2022 to enhance existing topics and update the course
content, however this did not affect the delivery of the course to graduates who were already
enrolled.
