ADOC 2022 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

At ADOC, we manage operations through rigorous Mubarraz Island, ARST, CFP and Hail. All direct energy
environmental impact assessments and management generated by ADOC is consumed; no surplus power is
programs, in compliance with the ADNOC HSE sold. Indirect energy provided by ADWEA is typically
Standards (2020) and global best practices, to protect required to power our onshore facilities.
our delicate environment. We also commissioned an Direct energy consumption was noted to be similar to
independent HSE Consultant to undertake a Health, 2021 and a 4.6% decrease in indirect energy consumption
Safety and Environmental Impact Assessment (HSEIA) was recorded compared to 2021. In 2022, the impact
for all existing facilities, which included detailed of the implementation of the EnMS transition has been
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). The objective monitored. Energy savings accomplished as a decrease in
of an operational HSEIA is to demonstrate that all residual the indirect energy consumption were observed.
HSE risks during normal operations are acceptable and
provide additional mitigation and monitoring measures
where shortfalls are identified. The main potential risks
identified from our facilities include impacts to air quality
from electricity generation, waste incineration and gas
flaring, ballast water discharges, ambient noise generation,
brine discharge from desalination and oil spills to the
          marine environment.
The facilities were assessed individually through separate
comprehensive HSEIA/EIAs for Mubarraz Island. To
ensure sufficient close-out of all committed actions
to reduce the severity and likelihood of all key risks,
recommendations for additional measures from each
assessment report that were captured during the EIA
process are presented in an Action Tracking Register.

          Energy

We ensure our commitment to support EnMS by
defining and establishing an Energy Policy and providing
the resources essential to establish, implement, maintain,
and improve the EnMS. Our Energy Policy is the result of
continuous efforts of ADOC Management to promote
energy management and conform to the policy
requirements of the ISO 50001:2018 standards.

We meet our energy demands through direct and
indirect energy consumption. Internal energy production
meets our direct energy needs, while Abu Dhabi Water
and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) supplies our indirect
energy requirements. Our offshore production and
operational activities require direct energy, and the
primary power generation facilities are situated on
Mubarraz Island. The electricity produced is supplied to
