ADOC 2022 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
MR. Y KONDO
Group Head
Processing and Integrity Department
I have been the group head of the PI Department since 2021 and my main responsibilities include the study
of new installations, modifications, and expansions of facilities, ensuring that process safety and asset integrity
are maintained, and operation of facilities is in line with HSE requirements.
As a department, we strive to maintain operational control in line with ADOC’s business priorities of
maintaining production, safe and reliable operations with zero hydrocarbon discharges and recently have
been looking into decarbonization practices. To minimize emissions, one proposal that we are exploring
is the replacement of the gas turbine generators, which are required to power our offshore operations,
with a greener alternative. Potential options we are considering include PV Solar or connecting onshore
power to offshore through means of a submarine cable. We realize that decarbonization is essential to the
sustainability of ADOC in the long-term and are planning our budget for next year to include for further
decarbonization studies.
A key achievement for the department over the past year has been the implementation of sludge volume
reduction technology i.e., consideration of a centrifuge for oil and sludge separation. Due to this technology,
50% more oil could be recovered from sludge thereby greatly contributing to the efficiency of ADOC’s
production operations.
Employees are the main contributor to ADOC’s successful and sustainable operations. As a group head I
believe that maintaining an open dialogue with staff is essential in keeping up the morale and optimism of
staff within the department enabling them to work efficiently.
