ADOC 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
MR. KIMIO SEKIGAMI
Manager
Offshore Operating Department
I have been in Mubarraz for the last four years and the key focus has always been on the continuation of safe and stable
operations. Maintaining health and safety standards at our operations and avoiding any injuries so that all employees get back
to their families safely, is of paramount importance to me. The OP department has around 370 staff. Any unforeseen events on
site, will not only impact these employees, but also their families, therefore, safe operations impact larger numbers of people and
result in happier families and better societies.
The offshore population, including contractor workers, almost doubled this year due to project work. Management of such high
numbers of workers was a difficult task, however, with our continued commitment towards implementing our HSE policy and
management systems, we were able to maintain the high standards of safety onsite. Handling of COVID-19 related issues have
been undertaken through systematic defining of ‘clusters’ offshore. Additional management measures include compliance with
relevant HSE procedures at accommodation camps, canteens, and other welfare facility areas.
Despite challenging circumstances, we have been able to continue our offshore environmental initiatives such as mangroves,
osprey, seagrass monitoring activities.
I believe that the development of the OP department in 2019 has resulted in improved communications and better clarity within
ADOC’s internal departments. We maintain a continuous dialogue with our key stakeholders such as ADNOC, CICPA, etc. to
review and evaluate our performance on projects, business KPIs and targets and HSE matters and other sustainability related
aspects. Going forward, OP Department will have better financial control in place, which in my opinion will lead to better cost
efficiencies and improved economic sustainability in ADOC.
SAFETY PERFORMANCE
In order to continuously improve and reduce the number of incidents that occur annually, we assess and monitor our safety
performance using numerous metrics. Our safety KPIs can be achieved through a combination of our detailed HSEMS, training
and awareness courses, and our workers’ commitment.
No high consequence work-related injuries (including fatalities) were recorded from our ADOC and Contractor staff.
ADOC also did not record any Lost Time Injuries (LTIs), reportable injuries or first aid cases in 2021, which was based on
357,042 hours of work. Sadly, our contractor staff recorded one LTI, and six first aid cases which is within the respective ADOC
KPIs. Unlike in 2020, the LTI Frequency (0.26) did not exceed the ADOC KPI for Contractor staff (≤0.569), based on 3,822,723
hours of work.
